Productivity Statistics: Sources and methods (Revised March 2012)

Executive summary

Productivity Statistics: Sources and methods outlines the data sources, definitions, and methodologies used to compile the annual labour, capital, and multifactor productivity (MFP) indexes that were published in the Productivity Statistics: 1978–2011 information release in March 2012.

In March 2011, Productivity Statistics: Sources and Methods was revised to include the property services industry (Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification 1996 (ANZSIC96) industry LA) in the ‘measured sector’.

This revision adds a glossary, and notes on improved methodology to the labour volume series.
